History

Ten months from restricted financing to a working press.

With only restricted financing in place, the building and installation project was successfully finalised in 2014 in a record ten months by Namibian contractors. This included the manufacturing and shipment of the GOSS printing machine from China and Britain, the Ferag inserting machine from Switzerland and the Fuji CTP equipment from Germany and the Netherlands.

The total investment of N$76 million, including the property, buildings, equipment and all financing costs, was mainly financed by the Development Bank of Namibia.

On 1 February 2015 WordPress Namibia officially started its operations by printing The Namibian newspaper, the weekly Informante newspaper and also advertising flyer products.

Equipment

Three machines, bought new, still the core of the plant.

  • GOSS Community web press

  • Ferag inserting line

Images approved PDF pages straight to plate, which keeps the screen to plate step consistent from one run to the next.
